Chapra: Lalu Prasad is working overtime in his Lok Sabha constituency Saran to woo voters. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief knows his opponent Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Rajiv Pratap Rudy is giving him a tough fight.

As both leaders lock horns in the predominant Yadav bastion, Lalu is wooing voters with his rustic charm while Rudy is using technology to his benefit.

"Yes, it is perceived as cow belt. But even Yadavs are not hostile towards Rudy. Even if they don't vote for me, they don't hate me. But there are many Yadavs who hate Lalu Prasad," claims Rajiv Pratap Rudy.

Meanwhile, Lalu Prasad is also busy campaigning.

"Sabko pranam. Aap laltain par mohar lagaiye aur hume jiwaiye (Regards to everyone. Vote for lantern (RJD's poll symbol) and make me victorious)," says Lalu.

Rudy, known for his love for designer labels and flying machines, is also campaigning hard reaching out every village in the region seeking both blessings and votes. He doesn't want to be left behind in the race with Lalu.

"I know I am in tiger's den. Lalu is a senior leader, but this time, he will bite the dust," hopes Rudy.

The result Saran throws up will redefine the direction of Bihar's politics in many ways and will either re-establish or shatter the notion of Lalu Prasad, being the undisputed, uncrowned political king of Bihar.

Star campaigners and helicopter visits have become a regular feature in Saran. Even if it seems to be a cakewalk for Lalu, he isn't taking any chances.
