New Delhi: In the Delhi premiere of critically acclaimed film Black Friday, which is based on Mumbai's 1993 bomb blasts, writer-director Anurag Kashyap sounds hopeful.
Anurag, the man behind the movie Black Friday has had tough luck releasing all the three movies directed by him. But this Friday, he is looking forward to breaking the jinx.
It had courted controversy for the past two years, but now the movie is finally set to hit the theatres this Friday and Anurag is clearly a relieved man.
“I am very excited. I feel vindicated. But I will believe everything only after the first show on Friday,” said Anurag.
So has the first commercial release of his movie mellowed the usually outspoken director?
“I don’t care. I don’t. I want my films to be released. I want it to be seen. If everything goes fine till the release, there is no way that it can go wrong,” said Anurag.
Anurag is keeping his fingers crossed as last time round, the movie got canned on the premiere day.
Though it wasn’t quite a star-studded evening, among the cast, only Pawan Malhotra who plays Tiger Memon in the film was present at the premiere. Let's hope there won’t be a blackout for the film this Friday.
