Islamabad:: At least four foreign journalists were killed and several people injured on Wednesday when a security forces' convoy was targeted with a bomb in northwest Pakistan's restive Dir district.
The convoy was going from Timergarha to Maidan when it was targeted near a state-run girls' educational institution in Balambut area of Dir district.
Four foreign journalists were killed and several other persons injured in the attack, Geo News channel reported, without mentioning the nationalities of those who died.
Some local journalists and security personnel were among the injured, it said.
The blast also damaged the educational institution.
The journalists were travelling with the security forces convoy to cover a function marking the reconstruction of infrastructure and schools that were destroyed by the Taliban.
Local residents dug through the rubble and pulled out the dead and injured as security forces cordoned off the area.
The troops also launched a search operation to trace those responsible for the attack.
