Click to play videoMalegaon: The victims of the serial bomb blast in Malegaon on Friday have told Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi to give them justice and not just compensation.
Sonia Gandhi and Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil are in Malegaon to review the situation and meet the victims of the blasts.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh also accompanied them.
Sonia Gandhi also went to the blast sites at Mushwara Chowk and Bada Kabristan while Patil reviewed the security situation in Malegaon.
Patil said the government would help all the victims and their families.
But, one of the victim’s relatives returned the cheque offered by Sonia Gandhi on her visit to Malegaon.
Even as the relatives of the victims vented their anger at the authorities the police, still struggling for leads, seemed to be venting their frustration on the media
CNN-IBN correspondent Toral Varia was surrounded and roughed up by the police in Malegaon. She was taken to the police lock up after the assault.
An NDTV cameraman was also roughed up.
