A journey guided by Blind Faith

New Delhi: A magical story with a dark core, Blind Faith, is a story about love, but not a love story.

It is about the different facets of love, from the pure and filial, to the twisted obsessions that pass for relationships and can destroy them.

Moving from Goa to London to Delhi and back, the story unfolds at a fast pace, while bringing out the local flavour.

The story is as much about Mia, a young Indian in London, who hasn't gotten over her father's death, as it is about Indi - a strong, slightly scary woman who goes blind and takes it out on the world, even as she etches out her own space.

The men are no lightweights either - the loves of Mia's life, Karna and Vik - two men from the opposite ends of the spectrum, who are in a fight to the finish.

From Karna, who seems to have walked straight out of a painting of the Kumbh Mela to the climax at the actual Kumbh, it's all pretty heavy-duty.

It's hard to have a favourite character here, the main players are all so violently human, and the fragility of relationships is something that stays with you, as you get sucked into this world where reality meets something a little more primeval.

So, if that sounds like your particular brand of lit, go ahead, pick up a copy and enjoy the ride.
