Jammu: Chaman Deep Singh is a bit of a slogger, but he gets the job done for his team. Deep, nicknamed Sidhu, is visually impaired - something he hasn't allowed to get in the way of him enjoying his favourite game - cricket.
Students at the school for blind children in Jammu play cricket regularly. They're enthusiastic supporters of Team Indian, even if the first match hasn't gone as well as they'd hoped.
Says a Blind School student, Rohit Sharma, "We have played so well here despite bing blind. The Indian team should perform much better than us. They should put in more effort."
The Indian cricketers could have learnt a thing or two about team spirit from the 10-over matches that these young cricketers play and the youngsters are more than willing to give out well-meaning advise to the national team.
Says a student, Yaseer Ahmad, "They should be united, and have faith in themselves."
The Indian Team may have started the World Cup on a disappointing note, but the cricket teams in the Blind School demonstrate how all players are winners and can give Team India a lesson on two on focus and performance.
