Bangalore: Ramesh, who is a human rights activist in Bangalore, has been charged of sexually abusing children in his orphanage.
Ramesh has been running two orphanages under the Karnataka Human Rights Trust set up in 2001 by him. And parents who couldn't support their children sent them to his orphanage, expecting them to be fed and educated. But little did they know that the activist was engaged in the heinous activity.
“He touched me all over. I told him not to but he did not listen to me,” says one of the victims.
Ramesh allegedly chose three girls from the orphanage everyday and sexually assaulted them. But all this came to light only when the father of one of the girls came to Bangalore to meet her. She revealed all that had happened to her, and showed him the torture marks. The incident only came to light when the father complained to the police.
“Ramesh used to bring small children about 10-11 years old from National, Bannerghatta and used to bring two to three girls everyday to his residential school at Hulimao and molest them,’ says SP, Bangalore, Rajendra Prasad.
Police say Ramesh is a psychopath and has a history of 10 years in jail for murdering a girl in 1990. He has been booked for molestation, rape, cheating, attempt to murder and criminal intimidation, and is currently in judicial custody till July 22.
