Bangalore: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation has released designs for its proposed Metro stations in various parts of Bangalore, but that's not all.
The corporation wants opinions not just from its stakeholders, but also its future users.
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd's Managing Director, V Madhu says, "We want young people, youngsters to write in and share their opinions and ideas and we want their feedback as the metro is for the people.
"I don't want it to look like a normal railway station," said one Bangalorean, "It should look like something in Singapore."
Another opined, "I want food joints and shopping areas in the station."
There are some differing views, though, particularly in commercial areas where shops would have to be demolished for the metro.
"Metro should not come on CMH road," said Sunil Kumar, who owns Karthik's Mithai Shoppe.
LG Shoppe owner Pramod Kumar Aggarwal asked, "Suppposing the metro comes on CMH road, will I get compensation? If I do, will it be worth it?"
While someone has scribbled "No station on CMH road" on a Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation board for a proposed station at CMH road, others are welcome to e-mail their suggestions to bmrcl@dataone.in.
