New Delhi: On Sunday morning, yet another person was run over by a blueline bus in the Capital.
The bus plying on route number 883 ran over a 14-year-old boy Karan, who died on the spot.
The accident took place in Vikaspuri in west Delhi.
This is the second fatal accident in the last two days. On Saturday, another blueline bus had run over three people killing one person and injuring two others in the Nangloi area of North west Delhi. The driver of that bus has been arrested.
There have also been several road accidents involving blueline buses in Delhi in the recent past.
Last Sunday, a speeding blue line rammed into several vehicles at a traffic intersection killing a boy and injuring seven others.
On June 17, one person was killed in an accident with a blueline bus in Defence Colony.
Similar accidents in Tilak Nagar and ITO had claimed two lives on June 4 and May 9.
There are over 3,000 private blueline buses operating in the Capital and many have been found violating traffic rules.
These accidents have forced Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit to announce that blueline buses will be phased out soon.
The Delhi government has already cancelled 600 blueline licenses.
