BMW 2: Utsav Bhasin's bail plea cancelled

CNN-IBN

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court today said the offence of Utsav Bhasin, accused of mowing down a person with a BMW car on September 11, is non-bailable and issued a notice to the city police on a petition seeking cancellation of bail granted to him.

Delhi police submitted before Justice Veena Birbal that additional charges under Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) have been framed against Bhasin after the death of victim, Anuj Singh, a BPO employee, who succumbed to his injuries on September 12.

The court, after hearing the contention, said police can take appropriate action as the offence is non-bailable.

Police had already seized the Bhasin's passport on the direction of the Delhi High Court.

Bhasin, son of Bahadurgarh-based industrialist R K Bhasin, was allegedly at the wheels when the BMW car hit two men on motorcycle near Moolchand flyover in south Delhi.

Besides Singh, TV journalist Mrigank Srivastav (29) was also hit. Bhasin was arrested from Kashmere Gate and granted bail at the police station itself.
