New Delhi: A witness in the BMW hit and run case has said that he saw a black car hit some people and that he heard the sound of the impact and the car was driven by Sanjeev Nanda.
Sunil Kulkarni is the main witness in the1999 BMW hit and run case.
The BMW driven by Sanjeev Nanda crashed into a police checkpoint in New Delhi on 10th January 1999.
A passerby Kulkarni was present at the site of the incident in which six people, including three policemen were killed.
Earlier on Monday, a Delhi court asked Sunil Kulkarni to complete his testimony on May 17.
Deposing before Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Kumar, Kulkarni, a Mumbai-based trader, began by narrating his activities before he allegedly saw the incident.
However, after about 30 minutes of questioning about the incident, Kulkarni began complaining of uneasiness.
The court allowed him to rest and the testimony resumed after some time. But Kulkarni then complained of nausea and sought adjournment.
Nanda is a Delhi businessman and son of an influential arms dealer.
Kulkarni is the only one so far who has not turned hostile in the case. Earlier witnesses had changed their statement to say that a truck and not a car had run over the people.
Two other witnesses, Manoj Malik and Harishankar, the petrol pump attendant who had called up the Police Control Room, have already turned hostile in the case. Malik had told the court that it was a truck, not a car, which killed the people.
In April 2007, the Delhi High Court had issued notice to the Delhi police to explain why Sunil Kulkarni, the prosecution witness in the 1999 BMW hit and run case should be brought back to Delhi from Mumbai.
