Mumbai: Bobby Deol may not be an A-list star like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan. But on Monday, at this special screening of Nanhe Jaisalmer held for underprivileged children, the actor couldn't help feeling like the most important person in the world with children mobbing him, shaking hands with him and asking for his autograph.
The film, an imaginative drama with a positive message, has received some good reviews. But for the actor, this film is a victory in more ways than one.
“If you put a book in front of a kid he won't read it. But if you make it interesting and present it in front of him, he'll enjoy it,” says Bobby.
Closer home, the film was a hit with the actor's two sons, who were in for a surprise when they first saw it.
"They are my kids and they have seen the film. And they were surprised to see Dwij (the child actor in the film) next to them come out of the screen,” says Bobby.
Although it's taken a slow start at the box-office, Bobby hopes most parents will take their children to the cinemas to see the film.
For his part, doing the film was more an emotional decision than a business one. Like they say, some things you do because your heart tells you to.
