Bodies of LSU students to be flown to India on Thu

Houston: The bodies of Chandrasekhar Reddy Komma and Kiran Kumar Allam - the two Indian students of Louisiana State University who were shot dead last week - are likely to be flown back to their native places in Hyderabad on Thursday, official sources said.

The despatch was awaiting some last minute clearance, Minister Consular based in Indian Embassy Krishan Verma told PTI and said the bodies may reach Hyderabad by Saturday or Sunday, he said.

Meanwhile, police said they were making progress in their investigations into the case.

On Tuesday, they released a sketch of two men suspected to be responsible for the death of the two students.

Both men were reportedly in their 20s and were seen in a car which left the area in a hurry after the incident.

Earlier, local authorities had assured Indian diplomats that the bodies, which have been kept in the local funeral home since Sunday, would be ready to be flown back after completion of some last-minute formalities.

Allam and Komma, both hailing from Andhra Pradesh, were shot dead on Thursday at the Edward Gay Apartments on the edge of the LSU campus.

They were pursuing doctoral degrees at LSU.
