The aggregate collection of first five days' business of 'Bodyguard' has shattered all previous records. The film has garnered a figure of almost 89 crore in just 120 hours. Grabbing around Rs 22 crore on the opening day, highest for any Hindi film till date, 'Bodyguard' is still going strong and is expected to enter the Rs 125 crore club in record time.
Last year's Eid release 'Dabangg' had claimed an estimated Rs 81 crore in the first week while 'Bodyguard' has surpassed it by a huge margin in just five days.
Biggest hit of Amir Khan's career '3 Idiots' had gathered around Rs 80 crores in the first week of its release.
The film has grossed $3.8 million in the foreign markets so far, and is all set to become Salman's biggest overseas hit, demolishing the record of Dabangg's $5 million.
As per the reports, 'Bodyguard' is going neck to neck with some Hollywood biggies.
Released with 2000 prints across 2799 screens, 'Bodyguard' is expected to receive a stiff competition from Shah Rukh Khan’s next release 'Ra.One'.
The publicity department of 'Ra.One' had released the initial teasers during the cricket world cup only. Therefore, the market will be geared up before 'Ra.One' hits the theaters.
