Mumbai: Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja was on Sunday detained for questioning at a suburban police station in Mumbai after his domestic help alleged that he had raped her.
"The domestic help, who has been working at Ahuja's residence in suburban Oshiwara, alleged that the actor had raped her on Sunday afternoon," Deputy Commissioner of Police Niket Kaushik told PTI.
"We have registered a FIR and called Ahuja to the police station for questioning in the matter to verify the facts," he said.
The house maid in her complaint has alleged that Ahuja raped her at his residence when they were alone, Kaushik said.
Ahuja is married and is known for his roles in films like Hazaron Khwaishe Aisi, and Gangster.
Police claim Shiney has admitted to having a physical relationship with his domestic help.
