Mumbai: Whoever said that the Indian film industry is devoid of writers should talk to filmmaker Shekhar Kapur.
The filmmaker was seen in a scriptwriting workshop organised by the Bitish Council and Sa Re Ga Ma and blamed corporates for not investing in new talent.
"We have immense talent, but we have people who claim to be gatekeepers," says he.
Meanwhile, the scriptwriters themselves had some very interesting story ideas.
One of the scriptwriters, Jasvinder Singh Bath says, "My story is a crazy comedy about a bank clerk and a scriptwriter who attempt a bank robbery."
Adds another scriptwriter, Amitav, "My idea is about a superstar and a journalist's attempt to explore the superstar's life."
With such interesting ideas, it's no wonder that film production companies like Adlabs, Yashraj films and Studio 18, among others have already in talks with these writers.
