Mumbai: Actor Boman Irani’s advise to honeymooners – “Don’t go on your honeymoon with your in-laws.” In case you are wondering why the actor is busy discussing honeymoons, well, it’s because their new comic flick Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd is about six couples travelling on their honeymoons together.
The film hits theatres this Friday and the actors of the film are going all out to promote it. They even met some real life couples and rode down Mumbai's marine drive in a pink bus to promote the film.
The film features six very different couples travelling together in the same bus and is entirely shot in Goa. Shooting for the film reminded the team of their honeymoons or in some cases the lack of them.
“It did remind me of my honeymoon with my wife in Kerala and the new roles we had set,” reminisces producer of the film, Farhan Akhtar.
While actor Shabana Azmi says, “I left to shoot for my second film the moment I got married. So, Javed and my roommates we all shared the same room.”
With six odd couples in one film and each trying to fight a different issue of love, Honeymoon Travels is a typical romantic comedy. So much so that package holidays have started appealing to the actors also.
“Actually it’s not such a bad idea to travel with other couples,” confesses actor Sandhya Mridul.
“Even if you travel together, it’s not like you sleep in the same room so there's no problem,” says Boman Irani.
So, while long distance travelling might not appeal to our Bollywood folk, the honeymoon in itself does.
