The alert was sounded reportedly after the recovery of an unclaimed bag and
a bomb disposal squad of the National Security Guards (NSG) was immediately pressed into service.
However, authorities later declared the entire exercise was a security drill.
According to CNN-IBN correspondent Bhupendra Chaubey, Parliament Watch and Ward staff - responsible for the security of the complex - received a note saying a bomb had been planted in Library Complex, located right opposite Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
Security was immediately heightened and the entire complex was sealed.
