Baharampore (West Bengal): Angered over a school girl's refusal to accept his marriage proposal, a boy stabbed her in the school premises and thereafter consumed poison in West Bengal's Murshidabad district, police said on Tuesday.
Both are said to be in a stable condition.
Nurman Ali, Class XI student of Baruipara High School, called the girl, studying in eighth standard of the same school, on Monday and expressed his love and desire to marry her.
On being rejected, he stabbed her with a knife and then consumed poison, they said.
