Chittagong: Darren Stevens 55 off 35 balls helped Dhaka Gladiators to thrash Sylhet Royals by 31 runs in the Bangladesh Premier League here on Tuesday.
Royals made the wrong decision by opting to field, as Gladiators posted 158 for 5 in 20 overs. Openers Joshua Cobb and Mohammad Ashraful gave the Gladiators a solid start and later in the innings Stevens and Anamul Haque propelled the score.
Coming on for the chase, Royals kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were not in any position to overhaul the target. Musfiqur Rahim was the top scorer with 41 runs, as Alfonso Thomas and Saqlain Sajib took two wickets each to leave Royals stranded at 127 for 8.
