Mumbai: Actor Emraan Hashmi plays a crime reporter in his forthcoming film 'Rush' and feels there is more important news out there than covering celebrity issues. "There is more important news out there. If you want to show breaking news - like a star slapping someone in a restaurant - if that becomes a breaking news and runs the whole day, I think that's something unimaginable. I think, there are some more relevant stories, anything else, but not this," the 33-year-old said here Tuesday in an interview.
He feels that celebrity news should be shown as 'a small snippet'.
"How can you keep playing the loop the entire day? That's just a no-brainer, there is nothing there, but again the people are watching it," he added.
After much delay, Emraan Hashmi, Neha Dhupia and Sagarika Ghatge starrer 'Rush' will finally hit the screens.
Director Shamin Desai started shooting of the film as 'Raftaar 24 x 7' in 2010.
The movie got shelved after his demise. In October 2011, Shamin Desai's wife Priyanka announced that she will complete the film and will rename it as 'Play'.
Shooting of the film resumed in January, 2012 and it will hit the screens as 'Rush' on October 24, 2012.
Media, politics, murder, action...'Rush' experiments with all the ingredients needed for a hit. It is a thriller.
The movie will showcase Emraan Hashmi's journey from a crime reporter to a criminal. The plot sounds pretty interesting.
Neha Dhupia will be seen in a glamorous avatar in the film. According to promos, she plays a seductress in 'Rush'.
Emraan Hashmi's popularity can actually help the film in grabbing eyeballs. After the success of 'Dirty Picture', 'Shanghai' and 'Raaz 3D', he is actually on a high.
Unfortunately, apart from Emraan Hashmi, the film has a pretty average star cast.
Music of the film has been composed by popular music director Pritam.
Sagarika Ghatge will be seen romancing Emraan Hashmi in the film.
After making her debut with Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chak De! India', she hasn't been very lucky in Bollywood.
Sagarika Ghatge was also seen in films like 'Fox' and 'Miley Naa Miley Hum'.
Do you think after being dealyed so much, 'Rush' stands a chance at the box office?
