Panaji: A 27-year-old British woman was molested at the Arambol beach here on Friday evening, the police said. The accused has been arrested.
The woman was bathing at the beach, around 40 km from here, when a youth from Maharashtra waded up to her and molested her, a senior police official said.
The accused Ravinder Gawde, a tourist from nearby Sawantwadi town of Maharashtra, has been arrested.
According to the complaint filed by the 27-year-old woman, the accused molested her while she was bathing in the sea, Pernem police said. The accused was part of a group that was holidaying in Goa, they said.
The incident comes at the beginning of the tourist season.
