New Delhi: A custody battle, paparazzi and hospitalization: Britney Spears had the worst weekend of her life!
It all began on Thursday night, when the Los Angeles police were called to her home after Britney refused to handover her two sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline.
The singer had only visitation rights to her children following a custody battle in court late last year.
According to police, the children were eventually turned over to their father, and several hours later, paramedics transported her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center amidst a sea of paparazzi.
According to a police spokesperson, Britney was tested to determine whether she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Several attendees at Saturday's 2008 Palm Springs Film Festival gala shared their views on Britney’s situation.
"I don't know Britney at all. All I know is that I'm a big fan of her music, and I think that this business just does weird things to people, and I think that it's sad. I just hope she figures out what's going on and gets better,” said actor Amanda Bynes.
"I feel bad because everyone kind of judges her and splatters her business everywhere. No one goes, 'Why is this happening?' They just judge and judge and judge. It's too bad,” says actor Ellen Page.
After Britney was hospitalized, a Los Angeles court commissioner gave sole physical and legal custody of her children to Federline.
The singer could regain visitation rights at a hearing scheduled for January 14.
As of now, Britney has been discharged from hospital and reports suggest that the troubled mother of two could be suffering from bipolar disorder.
