BANGALORE: While former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa is trying to make many more MLAs of his camp resign to step up pressure on the party high command, Municipal Administration Minister Balachandra Jarakiholi and his team have decided to pay back the former in the same coin.
Jarakiholi and his team claim to enjoy the support of 20 MLAs. The team has decided to resign enmasse if the party high command decides to remove Chief Minister D V Sadanand Gowda from the office.
“We have the support of 20 MLAs and we will resign if Gowda is removed owing to the pressure tactics of Yeddyurappa. The CM is doing a good job and we want him to continue,” said Minister for Science and Technology Anand Asnotikar on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Jarakiholi is lobbying for Gowda in Delhi. On Sunday, he met Gadkari and other leaders and urged them not to succumb to the blackmail tactics of Yeddyurappa. All the MLAs of the Jarakiholi camp are likely to go to Goa on Monday to discuss their next course of action.
Jarakiholi and his team has been nursing a grudge against Yeddyurappa, ever since he got 16 of them disqualified from their Assembly membership last year.
Meanwhile, state BJP spokesman and MLA CT Ravi and Tumkur MLA Sogadu Shivanna have demanded disciplinary action against the BSY camp.
