Chennai: A building has collapsed in the Triplicane area in Chennai. One person is dead and reports say many others are believed to have been trapped under the debris. The incident occurred in the residential area early on Wednesday morning.
Earlier reports had said two people were feared dead and four were belived to be trapped. Rescue teams have been pressed into service, police and fire officials said. Four persons are believed to have been trapped inside the building and efforts were on to rescue them, they said. Locals have also joined the rescue operations to help the rescue teams
Reports say there could be more people trapped under the debris. More details of the incident are awaited.
