Bulandshahr: The police claim to have cracked the murder of Abdul Hakim in Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh and they denied it was an act of honour killing. The police have arrested the prime suspect in the case, Salman. They allege the suspect was out to kill the victim's nephew but in the melee shot him instead.
The police have recovered two country-made pistols, one of which they say is the murder weapon. Abdul's wife had alleged her husband was killed by her family as they were against their marriage.
Abdul and his wife Mehwish had appeared on Aamir Khan's reality show Satyameva Jayate. Speaking to CNN-IBN, Mehwish said she suspected her family was behind the killing. "I'm sure of this because the day we left home, there was a meeting held and they decided to shoot us down whenever they find us. This was their goal and they have succeeded in it," Mehwish said.
