    New Delhi: At least 17 people - including four college students - were feared killed when a private bus carrying 30 passengers collided with a speeding train at a manned crossing in Moga, Punjab.

    The minibus, carrying 30 passengers, rammed into the Ludhiana-Ferozepur Sutlej Express when the train was crossing the Nuchur Chak village between Ajitwal and Jagraon stations.

    "The gate was closed for passage of the train and the bus hit the closed gate and rammed into the train," General Manager, Northern Railway, Sriprakash was quoted as saying by PTI.

    According to Local Station Officer Jasvir Singh, several passengers suffered grave injuries and were rushed the nearest hospital. He feared the causalities could to go up. "The accident may have happened due to fog. The injured have been rushed to the nearest hospital and all officers have rushed to the spot," he told CNN-IBN.
