Mumbai: A 15-year-old boy appearing for his Class 10 Board exams was beaten up by bus conductors. Ameesh Jaisinghania is in the hospital with a fractured arm and is now struggling to clear his Board exams this year.
"Jitne bhi conductor the mere ko maarne lage aur hath fracture ho gaya." ("All the conductors started beating me up and my hand got fractured"), says Ameesh.
Ameesh had got on bus No 15 at Mira Road to go to his exam center on Saturday morning.
When the conductor asked for a ticket, Ameesh gave him a mutilated Rs 50 note. The conductor abused Ameesh and asked him to give change.
He then gave a Rs 100 rupee note he had. The conductor grudgingly gave Ameesh the ticket, but their argument went on.
When Ameesh got down at the last stop, other conductors joined the conductor of the bus and they thrashed Ameesh.
Ameesh's family has lodged a police complaint against the conductor.
His mother, Renu Jaisinghania says, "Usko arrest karna chahiye. Itna ho jaane ke baad usko chodna nahin chahiye." ("He should be arrested after all that he has done.")
After the incident, Ameesh has been taking his exams with the help of a writer. The Municipal Corporation has provided a caretaker and a car to take Ameesh to his exam center.
Deputy Commissioner Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation, Balaji Khatgaonkar says, "After investigations, if anyone is found at fault, we will take strict action against them."
Ameesh will be discharged from the hospital in a day or two but it will take more than a month for his hand to heal. However, he is determined that this incident will not affect his future and so he is taking his exams from the hospital bed.
