New Delhi: Indian Americans are a concerned lot these days and it's all because of the Bush administration's move to push through the sale of a $2 billion package of advanced military equipment to Pakistan.

According to agency reports, a campaign spearheaded by Washington-based US-India Friendship has rounded up many Indian Americans, who in turn have approached Senators and asked them to help block this package.

The members of US-India Friendship have citied Islamabad's dismal proliferation record for conventional and nuclear weapons.

In emails that they wrote to US Sentaors, they have stated that the sophisticated weaponry provided by US to Pakistan may "find its way inot the hands of Taliban, Iraqi insurgents, Iranians and North Koreans" - especially given the history of the nuclear and conventional defence proliferation and cooperation between North Korea and Pakistan in the nuclear field.

They have warned that the Senators should not be surprised to see America-provided TOW 2A and RF bunker buster missiles in North Korea soon after the deal goes through.

Almost 2,769 Radio Frequency TOW 2A missiles, 415 RF bunker buster missiles, 121 TOW launches for wire-guided and wireless missiles, E-2C Hawkeye 2000 Airborne Early Warning Systems, simulators and support equipment worth about 1.04 missiles are going to be given to Pakistan.

The Defence Cooperation Agency notified the Congress of the intended sale on December 7 leading to the protests. The weapons are being provided to Pakistan ostensibly to help fight against terror.
