New Delhi: The launch of Hindustan Times Media's new business paper in the Capital was a glitzy affair. mint will hit the stands on February 1.
“We wanted a fresh name, not Business Times or Business HT,” said Vice Chairperson, HT Mediam, Shobhana Bhartia.
mint already enjoys an upper hand courtesy its exclusive partnership with The Wall Street Journal.
Clearly, our area of expertise is business, finance and technology and it all fits in so well the growth of the Indian economy," said Asian Managing Director, The Wall Street Journal,” Christine Brendle.
Every weekday, the paper will have four pages of International news and analysis by journalists from The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones.
“India has gone global and needs global news, so we with Wall Street Journal, aim to achieve that,” said Managing Editor of MINT, Raju Narisetti.
The paper is being launched in a unique compact size to cater to the busy and mobile reader. But with the likes of The Economic Times and Business Standard already there, why the need for another pink paper?
“The current newspaper market is complex and cluttered. So, we need another paper,” said Business Head, mint, Rajan Bhalla.
The newspaper will also have an online edition, www.livemint.com, and the magazine style weekend edition called LOUNGE, offering health and lifestyle news.
