It looks like yet another glossy calendar featuring Bollywood's biggest names. But this calendar is not just about dates, it also has a message on breast cancer awareness.
Filmmaker Karan Johar has a special reason for launching this calendar. “I feel very strongly towards cancer because I lost my father to cancer. It is indeed a very personal reason," says Karan Johar.
Priced at Rs 500, the calendar shot by lensman Subi Samuel, has the biggest names in Bollywood posing for the cause of cancer. After being involved with this calendar, Karan is now inspired to make a film supporting the issue of cancer awareness.
“So far I haven't made a film that deals with a socially relevant cause but I would like to make a short two to four-minute film which supports cancer and spreads awareness about it,” says Karan.
Most of us hope that Karan’s wish of making a short documentary on cancer, amounts to a little more than just lip service.
