Candle march to protest deaths in BMW accident

Gurgaon: Around 100 people on Sunday held a candle march to protest the two deaths in the BMW crash here and demanded the arrest of the real culprit.

The protesters marched a distance of 1.5 km from Leisure Valley in Sector 29 to Galleria market, demanding the arrest of the culprit in the May 5 accident, in which two persons died and three were injured after the speeding BMW hit a Tata Indigo car near IFFCO Chowk.

Sanjay Sethi and a pregnant woman, Kshama Chopra Shetye died in the accident, while three persons were injured. No arrest has been made even a week after the mishap.

Rajesh surrendered in the local court on Saturday and verified this version. Police, however, refused to buy this version.

After the incident, the 'driver' of the BMW ran away while another person in the car, Dakhsh Jaiswal, seriously injured was admitted in the hospital.

The owner of the BMW, Devender Sehrawat has claimed that his driver, Rajesh alias Raju was driving the vehicle when the mishap occurred.

Rajesh surrendered in the local court on Saturday and verified this version. Police, however, refused to buy this version.

Police is suspecting that Suraj Sehrawat, son of Devender Sehrawat, was on the driving seat, but they are yet to establish this.

The court on Monday will decide whether Rajesh was on the driving seat, and has sought reply from the Gurgaon police regarding the case.
