New Delhi: The colours of Onam are coming alive in God's Own Country Kerala, but the festivities don't end there.
Malayalees in New Delhi are going all out to make sure their celebrations are bigger and better.
The traditional rhythm of Kerala resonates in the capital and even though thousands of miles away, the Spirit of Kerala is very much predominant in the capital.
The Delhi Malayalee Association has been celebrating Onam for the last 60 odd years. With settu mundus pookalams, nilavillukus , with over one million Malayalees in the national capital this event is always a grand affair.
"Irrespective of caste, creed and religion, it's a celebration of the masses of Kerala", says President, Delhi Malayalee Association (DMA), Sainuddin
"Onam is celebrated more in Delhi than in Kerala," says Gen Secy, DMA, CL Antony.
Preparations for the festivities are a visual treat for all with kids getting ready to perform traditional Kerala song and dance routines.
