Car buffs not deterred by huge rush

New Delhi: The Nano continues to remain in focus at the ninth Auto Expo in the capital. Sunday being a holiday saw the heaviest rush so far at the expo.

But that was no deterrent for the car enthusiasts who are keen to enjoy all that the expo has to offer.

Two young boys said that they were big car buffs and had come to see all the latest models on display.

The biggest crowd puller of course has been Tata's latest offering Nano and the organisers had to ask for extra security from Delhi Police after crowds almost brought down the display stall on Saturday.

Despite the heavy security the steady stream of people was not willing to go back without having a look at Nano.

"We came mentally prepared to face the crowd," an enthusiastic young girl said.

On the other hand an old man and a middle-aged lady admitted that they were finding it inconvenient with the increasing number of people thronging different stalls.

"When we came in it was not as crowded. It's very crowded now," the lady said.

While weekdays have seen a footfall of around 1 lakh people, Sunday proved to be a tough one for the organisers with over 3 lakh people visiting Pragati Maidan where the Auto Expo is being held.
