New Delhi: Anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare on Monday became the latest voice to oppose United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government's electronic cash transfer policy, alleging it would just help Congress cadres and not the poor man.

In the national capital to attend Sitaram Jindal Award Ceremony, the anti-corruption crusader said, "It is not going to help poor. This thing has been brought with an eye on upcoming polls that are going to be held. This scheme will specially help party cadres, not people."

Hazare was replying to a question on the government's cash-transfer policy which is being touted as a 'game-changer' for the UPA-II. Also at the event, Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravishankar said the youth and political class should be able to absorb both compliments and criticism on equal measure.
