New York: Welsh actress Catherine Zeta Jones plays a New York master chef specialising in haute French cuisine in her latest film No Reservations. But what she'd like to see on her own plate is – chicken Tikka Masala and Saag.
The Intolerable Cruelty actress spoke to CNN-IBN correspondent Indira Kannan in an exclusive interview and talked about her film No Reservations and Bollywood.
Indira Kannan: Were you apprehensive about taking this role? What was the biggest attraction of this project?
Catherine Zeta Jones: The storyline attracted me. Also because I have never played the character like that of Kate before.
Indira Kannan: Fans in India might be disappointed that you didn’t cook any Indian recipe in your new movie?
Catherine Zeta Jones: I was born and brought up in an Indian Community. I was brought up on Indian food. I love Chicken Tikka Masala, Spinach Saag, Naan bread, and of course Indian beer. While doing the movie I constantly kept on thinking about the Indian food.
Indira Kannan: How do you feel about Indian cinema? Are you familiar with Bollywood?
Catherine Zeta Jones: It's sheer size is something I am attracted about. Had I been in India, I would definitely be a Bollywood star especially with my dancing and singing.
Indira Kannan: We would love to see you there. Thank you so much for talking to CNN-IBN.
Catherine Zeta Jones: Thank you.
