Bangalore: A shocking story has come in from Bangalore where a brutal attack inside an ATM booth has been caught on camera. The attacker was seen entering the booth and pulling down the shutter before he repeatedly attacked the woman with a machete.
The attacker then escaped after robbing the woman. Shockingly the incident took place just a stone's throw away from the Ulsoor Gate police station. The incident came to light after people passing by noticed blood stains outside the ATM.
The woman was then rushed to the hospital and is said to be conscious but in critical condition. The police are examining the footage to investigate the case. The 44-year-old victim is a bank manager.
"The man closed the shutter after entering the ATM. He ran away with her purse. But her jewellery and other things are intact. The woman has regained consciousness but she is not in a position to comment. Our police officers are present with her waiting to question her," said Additional Commissioner of Police, Bangalore, Kamal Pant.
"It was an unfortunate incident but I congratulate the brave manager, she resisted. We have given warnings to these banks to provide security inside the ATMs. The police can't go and stand everywhere and protect the people, crime will go on but we need to take precautionary measures. ATM is a part of the bank only. It's the cash that is kept there, it is the duty of the banks to protect the employees and the customers.
