New Delhi: Two years after registering a disproportionate assets case the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday arrested former Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Akhand Pratap Singh for corruption.
The CBI has traced 84 properties and 100 bank accounts allegedly belonging to Singh.
The case was registered in 2005 after which a raid was conducted on his house.
Singh was the chief secretary when Mulayam Singh Yadav was the chief minister of UP.
He retired in 2003. Singh was arrested from his Vasant Kunj farm house while making a bid to escape when CBI came knocking at his door.
