New Delhi: Dr Rajesh Talwar’s compounder Krishna has been sent to police custody for three days by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Ghaziabad on Saturday. He will remain in the custody of CBI till June 17.
The CBI, which is probing the sensational Arushi-Hemraj double murder case, was seeking Krishna's custody for 14 days and had pleaded that the custody was essential to recover the weapon used to murder the duo on May 15.
Sources in the CBI also said that Arushi's father Dr Rajesh Talwar would undergo a psychological analysis test. Dr S Malini will conduct the test. She is the same doctor who conducted the narco analysis test of Krishna in Bangalore on Friday.
Dr Talwar's test, however, will be conducted in Delhi
The CBI also conducted fresh searches in the houses of the Talwars and their family friends, the Durranis.
Both the Talwar and Durrani residences were cordoned off, sparking speculation that the CBI teams were looking for the murder weapon.
A forensic team was also assisting the CBI. All water tanks and pipes in the building where the Talwars stay were being scanned and water pipes were broken open.
The investigations are being carried out based on leads provided by Krishna, who was arrested on Friday. The case has been registered under Section 302 (murder) and section 201 (destruction of evidence).
According to CBI sources, Krishna knew about the murders. The sources also said that the murder weapon was not a surgical knife as claimed by the Uttar Pradesh police but could probably be a khurki, a short curved knife.
A CBI team also went to the house of the Durrani’s, the dentist colleague of Dr Talwar, on Friday night, her Anita Durrani’s name cropped up in the narco analysis of Krishna.
The team searched the Durrani house at around 2230 hrs (IST).
