New Delhi: From the glamour Awards to the Fashion Awards, the celeb brigade turned out in their designer best for both.
Glamour Award arrivals:
The glam quotient was right in place as the stars took their place on the red carpet, posing and preening for the cameras. The occasion was this year's Glamour Woman of The Year Awards in London. So while Annie Lennox seemed happy that she would be a part of Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday celebrations, she says, ”It's going to be a momentous occasion and amazing to think that Nelson Mandela's going to be ninety and we're all going to be together in Hyde Park. Fantastic."
Others were definitely more in sync with the theme of the occasion. Lily Allen turned up with her hair all pink, Spice girls-Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell also made a red carpet appearance as did Hayden Panettierre and Kate Beckinsale, all with a sexy pose thrown in. Kimberly Stewart and singer Dannii Minogue also added further glam to the award function.
CFDA Fashion Awards:
Quite a few celebs turned up for this gala organised by The Council for Fashion Designers of America, with Victoria Beckham clad in mysterious black and a gravity-defying pair of heels and Naomi Campbell too making her presence felt. The event also saw praises pouring in for deceased designer Yves Saint Laurent.
“Saint Laurent did everything. He was full of fantasy. He was so talented. He invented so many looks. He was copied by the world, all the designers in the world. We're going to miss him because he was a real genius,” says Carolina Herrera.
France Surveillance:
How would a child remember death? How would a drug addict remember a death? And how would a cop remember a death, especially if their reputations depended on it?
And that's exactly what this gruesome and shocking supernatural thriller-Surveillance is all about. Directed by Jennifer Chambers Lynch, the film tracks Bill Pullman and Julia Ormond as FBI agents who are tracking a serial killer with the help of three of his would-be victims. However the FBI agents face a difficult challenge, as all of the witnesses have very different stories.
The film releases in September this year.
