Celebs, Kumbh crowd share space

Allahabad: The Ardh Kumbh is attracting several celebrities this year who have come to wash away their sins.

A stage on the Kumbh city came alive with epic tale of Durga and the demon for two hours. And playing the part of Durga was none other than actress Hema Malini.

“I have performed earlier also. It is a totally different experience,” said the actress.

Actor Ashutosh Rana, could be spotted making shivlings at his guruji's ashram.

“For me to come to Kumbh means to demolish the ego and create a kind of individuality that will itself be a medium of success for you,” said Rana.

With his party having a hard time in the UP elections, the Samajwadi party leader, Amar Singh also made his strong political presence felt in Kumbh.

“It is a totally different experience coming here. I actually saw Goddess Durga in Hemaji when I watched her performance,” Singh said.

Kumbh is also called the festival of immortality and film stars are definitely the crowd pullers. However, the real stars are the pilgrims who shed their ego and convert extraordinariness into commonality on the banks of the Ganges.
