New Delhi: Little over 12 hours since terror struck Tripura's capital city Agartala, the Centre claims that it had given the state intelligence about the Agartala bombings.
Minister of State for Home, Sriprakash Jaiswal said, "Prior warning was given to the state government before the blasts."
Four people have already been arrested, one of whom was seen on a motorcycle near the Radhanagar bus stand, the blast site. An official release says the four men were picked up late on Wednesday night from an undisclosed location.
Two people were killed and 70 others were injured when serial blasts ripped through the city. The condition of five of the injured is critical.
The low intensity blasts occurred in Agartala's main shopping areas - Maharaja Ganju Bazar, Gobind Ballah Pant market, busy Radhanagar bus stand, Agartala Motorstand and Abhay Nagar localities.
Three of the blasts occurred in market areas where people were out to make purchases to celebrate Eid and Navratri. The first blast occurred around 19:30 hrs IST on Wednesday evening and the rest happened within a space of 45 minutes.
