Mumbai: Abhay Deol is now changing lanes, after establishing himself as an actor to reckon with, this Deol Junior is now turning producer and has also co-written the script of his forthcoming film Dev D with director Anurag Kashyap.
"I thought Dev D was a perfect Romeo and Juliet to contemporaries and I wanted to fit into some issues which I felt are relevant and Anurag took it even further to a deeper level," said Abhay.
And it's not just acting and writing that Abhay is dabbling in. He is also turning producer with a production house titled Forbidden Films. And as the name suggests he wants to make the kind of films that may not otherwise get past Bollywood's assembly line.
"It stems for me from the fear of getting stuck in Bollywood, they don't do thing out of the formula. I didn't see people doing it so I thought let me do it first before I turn around and say you don't do it," explained Abhay.
Here's hoping Abhay's Dev D clicks well with the audience.
