New Delhi: A week after India's failure to qualify for the Beijing Olympics, the team's technical advisor Ric Charlesworth is finally in India.
Charlesworth will meet with officials of the IHF and the Sports Ministry later on Monday and told CNN-IBN that if his methods and ideas aren't accepted, he will end his association with Indian hockey.
"The only thing that I have said is that if things stay the same then I don't think that's the answer for India and I won't want to be interested in that," Charlesworth said upon his arrival.
"I have a lot of ideas about how India should go about rebuilding its place in hockey, and I think we need to start now if we are thinking about bulding a team which will be very good in London 2012," he added.
"For India to be successful, the players have to be able to do it. Are they good enough? We don't know yet. We can find that out if we have a good programme. The coaching staff and the support people and the administration will have to do well. If we do well, everybody will be a winner," Charlesworth pointed out.
