Cannes (France): They are every photographer's delight and actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were surely in focus when they turned up at Cannes on Monday for the press conference of A Mighty Heart.

Co-produced by Brad Pitt's production house Plan B and directed by Michael Winterbottom, A Mighty Heart, is based on Mariane Pearl’s memoir of the same title that details the abduction and murder of her husband and Wall Street journalist Daniel Pearl in 2002.

Producer Pitt was thrilled to present the film at Cannes.

"Someone described it as being a triumphant experience, after all the hard work that goes into a film and coming here and getting to present it, that there is a really positive side to it. I think that is true, and especially dealing with this film, where everyone involved, of course, felt great responsibility. We are very happy that the film maintains the dignity of Mariane and Danny,” Pitt said.

Meanwhile, Jolie who plays the slain journalist’s wife in the film felt that her own pregnancy during the film's production helped her understand Marriane better.

Marriane Pearl was six months pregnant when Daniel went missing.

“I remember being six months pregnant, and thinking 'I cannot imagine, at this time, not having the father with me'. Not having and being concerned about his life and trying to eat, and trying to remember to get some sleep and trying to take a deep breath, and physically even just moving around. So, as a woman, it just made me so much more connected to her and aware of her,” Jolie said.

Apart from promoting A Mighty Heart, Pitt is also in Cannes to promote his new movie Ocean's Thirteen with his co-stars George Clooney and Matt Damon.
