Chennai: A 20-year-old air-hostess was killed in a freak accident on Tuesday after she was thrown off an adventure ride inside an amusement park on the outskirts of Chennai. The victim, who hailed from Nagaland suffered head injuries, was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced her dead. The cause of death is being probed.
Three people including the amusement park's facility manager have been arrested. The police said the operator of the ride has also been arrested.
"We had finished two rides, she fell off on the third one. She fell down and had a head injury. We couldn't save her," said one of the victim's friends.
Earlier in 2011, 17 people which included mostly children, were injured at Nicco Amusement park in Kolkata.
