Click to play videoChennai: A 25-year-old girl in Chennai has accused her colleague, who works as an instructor at a BPO, of raping her.
The girl filed a police complaint that 30-year-old Jijulal Nair took her out for lunch, spiked her drink and then raped her.
Inspector A Pugazhendi at the Thuraipakkam Police Station said, “The boy took the girl out to a lonely place and raped her. The girl registered a complaint and based on that we have arrested Jijulal Nair.”
However, Nair, who admits to having had sexual intercourse with the girl, told the police that it was with the girl's consent. He says he has received several calls and messages from her after the alleged rape.
Meanwhile, the girl has gone back to her hometown in Villupuram but will be back in Chennai to undergo a medical test.
The police say they are investigating the case and can give a clear picture only after the medical tests are done.
