Chennai: A quarrel among friends over using the lavatory led to the murder of a youth in Chennai on Friday night.
Police said Arun, 26, son of Muthukrishnan, who was a diploma holder, supplied drinking water cans in the neighbourhood in Teynampet area and stayed with his friend in that area.
Ganesh Kumar, another tenant in that house and a friend, was living in the same compound.
On Wednesday, Arun had used the lavatory meant for Ganesh Kumar, which led to a verbal duel and developed into a slug-fest. The fight was, however, stopped with the intervention of the neighbours and other friends.
Enraged by this, Ganesh Kumar, along with his sibling Siva Kumar, confronted Arun once again around 8.30 pm on Friday. While arguing, the brothers stabbed Arun who succumbed to injuries.
Inspector M Ravi said the brothers who confessed to the crime, were held soon after the incident was reported. Produced in court, they are kept in Puzhal Prison.
