New Delhi: Centenarian F D Engineer of Andhra Pradesh has become the oldest tax payer in the country, with his filing of IT return along with payment of due taxes on July 31, this year.
Finance Minister P Chidambaram lauded the 100-year-old Engineer, hailing from Secunderabad, for his noble act. He also conveyed his best wishes, according to an official release here.
Chidambaram asked the IT Department to process the return of Engineer on October 11 and the same was done the next day, the release added.
