New Delhi: Another controversy for Chinese products. About 1 million cribs made by Simplicity and Graco are being recalled in the US after three children became entrapped in their cribs and suffocated to death. The cribs were all made in China, which has termed the news; a plot to discredit its exports.
Two infancts have already succumbed to a painful death after being caught in a crib.
One of them was barely six-months old. Parents are a terrified lot
"It's very frustrating and upsetting to think that something I bought for him could potentially be harmful to him,” said Julie Pastro a worried parent.
A one-year-old lost his life after being caught in the newer model of the crib—a model, which hasn't been recalled yet.
Nancy Nord, Chairman of the Consumer Product Safety Commission said, "as a mom, as the chairman of this agency, I am incredibly troubled by this recall. We've got to make sure that parents who have one of these cribs understand the danger."
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says that In all three deaths the customer had installed the drop-rail side of the crib upside down. This creates a gap in the crib that children can slide into and suffocate. These cribs are all made in china, making it the latest controversy to hit China-made products.
